Durdledoor
Today we enjoyed the sunshine by heading out with the family to Durdledoor in Lullworth. Having a mini picnic on the grass before taking the picturesque walk up to look out over the sea with Durdledoor standing there. I captured a few up close ones where sailing boats were flying behind the window of Durdledoor, but I loved the colours of the sea, and the dramatic effect this picture had.
After this we enjoyed an icecream whilst looking accross the sea at Dorset, and into some caves in the rock face. Then headed on into a little village called Tyneham, which was closed int he 1940's and evacuated for Army training for the landing on D-Day. The coast line was the most similar so the villagers were evacuated and the government bought the whole valley for a measley £30,000!
The little village is now in a bit of a timewarp with its crumbling small buildings and wild Garlic taking over!
A truely splendid day full of lovely people, gorgeous views, and my lovely man.
