Pilgrimage to Zion
After a pretty spectacular night out on the celebration front, we woke to gorgeous sunshine again, cooked up a full English, and the strolled through the forests and paths to the Iron Age site of Zion. It is very rare for any settlements to be discovered from the era at all, so its amazing to be able to see the outlines of the mounds and the houses which used to be there. All hidden away in a little Copse, which we meandered through and got lost in a little bit! The light was gorgeous so we sat by the pond, and read our books for a couple of hours enjoying the sun and soaking up the lovely peaceful atmosphere.
These little plants were lining the path home, and I loved the way the light hit them, so took a quick snap of them. I woulds have photographed Zion, but it wouldn't have looked like anything but mud and trees in the light that was being cast!
After a gorgeous few hours strolling woodlands, and ponds, sitting and reading, we headed home for what can only be described as a feast!
Yummy!
