Radishes

...and a few other things.

I'll be pleased if our radishes are edible this year. Perhaps planting them earlier together with regular application of water will help.

This part of our vegetable garden is suddenly easier to manage now that the rye grass has been reduced in population and we have some topsoil. The asparagus that we planted this year is showing signs of life but won't be ready to crop for 3 years. I planted 100 corms, so that should be plenty.

I think we interplanted the radishes with carrots but I'm not sure if we did that everywhere. We have plenty more onion sets to plant and the garlic is already reasonably sized but not much this year.

It's good that we have had a little rain. It's been rather dry until now.

I still have a lot to do with the other vegetable plot, although the otatoes (6 varieties) are in. Watering is going to be more problematic down there, so we will have to lay out more hosepipe to forget in the autumn.
