Hell!
Yesterday was a day from hell! I had a migraine all day - a real humdinger of a one! I'd had leg pains in the night so took morphine - only 5 ml when I could have had 20-30ml but 5 seems to work for me without making me feel nauseous. I woke in the morning with a headache and it quickly turned into a migraine. Spent the day with an eye mask on, not eating, barely drinking and able to answer with a mumbled yes/no . By 8 pm I was at my wits end and decided I'd have to take ibuprofen. I had been told I could not take it with the blood thinner I was injecting myself with daily! I asked my sister to check with Vegan Jo - lots of messages between the two later Jo asked if my sister wanted her to come over - I think my sister was at her wits end and said yes! Dear Jo stayed with me and my sister did a late night Tesco run to get bread as we had run out and some straws as Jo felt I might be able to take water more easily. I managed to slowly eat morsels of bread, took 2 paracetamol, and finally 2 ibuprofen! Jo left at 11 when the migraine finally retreated and I became able to open my eyes and talk! I've not had such a migraine in a long, long time! Think it was build up of a month of poor sleep and the morphine!
Today I contacted the pharmacist at my surgery and got him to prescribe an anti-sickness medicine and he also gave me the go ahead to take ibuprofen as needed for pain. I also ordered a gel pack to deal with the leg pain - my sister has been watching her craft videos and one person has recently had knee surgery and had spoken about their effectiveness. The frozen peas have been working for the swelling so hopefully a proper gel pack will work even better! I don't want to take the ibuprofen too much as I have taken it for years for headaches and intensively during menopause before HRT. A colonoscopy showed damaged to my intestine so was warned to stop using it!
I felt pretty washed out today, but after eating breakfast at 5 as still not able to sleep for more than 2 hours, and then having lunch, I began to come to! I cleared my medicine drawer, watched more of a Chinese fantasy series, did some tapestry and sorted more of my fiendish jigsaw! Watched the last of a murder mystery in the eve! Normal service resumed! Well what passes for normal at the moment!
