Visiting gardens on Bank Holiday

Each year on Bank Holiday Monday in the local town, 6 gardens open their gardens for just the afternoon, with the ticket proceeds going to a charity. It's usually great fun, as each year it's 6 different gardens. We usually get to recognise the people going from one garden to another, clutching their programmes in their hands. This year didn't disappoint, and I came away with some good ideas, as well as enjoying the wonderful warm day. All the gardens had suffered in the cold weather, but put on a good display although it is still a bit weird seeing bluebells out the same time as rhododendrons. One combination that was particularly striking was of wisteria climbing through a laburnum tree - both in flower.
The shot I have here was of one of the gardens - really charming, with lots of winding paths and lovely colour combinations in the plants and shrubs. At this site they also served tea and cakes to us punters, which was an added bonus!
