One of the nice things about the B&B here is that within a very few minutes you can cross the river and be atop the hill opposite, with views over the dales one way, and down onto the town the other way.

This was a quick circuit before breakfast.  

The surprise today was walking through huge areas of flowering garlic - with the corresponding, um, perfume.

This trip to the peaks was shorter than we'd have liked because we're combining this weekend with landlord logistics in Coventry and visiting 'A' in Oxford.   After some exploring of town (Hey! Matlock has a real post office - unlike where I live and work - so I can actually post these eBay sales) and countryside including passing this tree again, we set off down to Coventry to collect M and head on down the M40 to Oxford.
