Fruitful Encounters At The Cash And Carry
I had to nip into town today to get a few things and whilst I was there I thought I would try my hand at a bit of street photography again. It's not something I'm great at and I still get a bit nervous doing it.
I'd seen this fruit and veg shop (curiously it's not actually a cash and carry nor in London) on my trip into town last Sunday and stored it in the old memory bank as a possible backdrop. I've seen a few videos on street photography and one suggestion is rather than just walking around randomly is to pick somewhere with an interesting or characterful background that has caught your attention as your frame and then wait for people to enter and leave it, or interact within it. So I took up position across the street from the shop, snapped away and these are the results.
In my main image I actually liked the fact that the chap in the mobility scooter was exiting the frame with his jaunty hat combined with the red and white safety barriers and the workman in his bright orange trousers and yellow jacket against the expanse of myriad fruit as a backdrop. I couldn't believe my luck for the first extra when the fella in the red hoodie appeared at the same time as the shopkeeper in his fabulously patterned shirt. The second extra shows a girl striding past with her red flowing locks.
