Y ffordd bell rownd
Y ffordd bell rownd ~ The long way round
“In the war things were in terrible turmoil. What I had learned at the academy was of no use to me and the useful new ideas were still unready... I felt myself freed and had to shout my jubilation out to the world. Out of parsimony I took what I could find to do this, because we were now an impoverished country. One can even shout with refuse, and this is what I did, nailing and gluing it together. I called it 'Merz'; it was a prayer about the victorious end of the war, victorious as once again peace had won in the end; everything had broken down in any case and new things had to be made out of the fragments; and this is Merz.”
― Kurt Schwitters

Mae diwrnodau ymddangos i fod â siapiau gwahanol. Rhai o ddiwrnodau yn llydan, rhai yn gul. Roedd heddiw yn rhywsut cul a byr.
Penderfynais i ddechrau ar roi cwteri ar y ‘cwtsh’ i gasglu glaw mewn casgen ddŵr. Cerddais i i'r masnachwyr adeiladwyr i brynu pethau amrywiol. Es i'r ffordd bell rownd am newid. Weithiau rydw i'n ffeindio os dych chi'n cymryd llwybr anghyfarwydd i le cyfarwydd dych chi'n gallu ei gweld gyda llygaid ffres. Hyd yn oed yr hen arwydd wag ar ben y stryd.
Prynais i lawer o ffitiadau a cherddais, braidd yn llyffethair, yn ôl i fyny'r heol. Dim ond amser oedd gyda fi i ddechrau mesur y gwaith cyn roedd amser i stopio am y dydd. Rydw i'n gobeithio gwneud mwy o gynnydd yfory neu ddydd Llun. Bydd e'n waith arall oddi ar fy rhestr (ddiderfyn?).

Days seem to have different shapes. Some days are wide, some are narrow. Today was somehow narrow and short.
I decided to start on putting guttering on the 'cwtsh' to collect rain in a water butt. I walked to the builders merchants to buy various things. I went the long way round for a change. Sometimes I find if you take an unfamiliar path to a familiar place you can see it with fresh eyes. Even the old blank sign at the top of the street.
I bought a lot of fittings and walked, somewhat burdened, back up the road. I only had time to start measuring the work before it was time to stop for the day. I'm hoping to make more progress tomorrow or Monday. It will be another job off my (endless?) list.
