My birthday has been had. I'm very pleased with it. A salad was made a cace was ordered and I'd sent an invitation to the closest friends and neighbours that I held an "open house" if anyone wanted to come by to share my day with me. Several did, there was a steady flow of people from half past eleven till quarter past nine. Some stayed a only a while, some stayed longer, just as I wanted it. The food was almost finished by the end of the day, the cake was exactly as big as was needed and the house has been well chatted about high and low matters, this is the way I want to remember it.
