Elinor’s AllStar team earned second place at the tournament this weekend.
We witnessed some disappointing scenes along the way - parents and coaches losing it, swearing at the officials and dropping ‘f- bombs’ liberally while yelling at their own team or denigrating the opposition. Quite disappointing.
After one loss and a draw on the Saturday, they won a hard fought, quite physical game on Sunday morning against a team that hadn’t lost all year and hadn’t even conceded a goal for 10 games. There were a lot of tears shed. Meanwhile Sonja exemplified the sport’s best values congratulating us on the win and acknowledging the great skill of several of our players. A reassuring role model.
The weekend finished on a high note with another win.
