Tuesday: Caye Bokel

Two of my official visitors left this morning, one is still here.  We had an excellent day today, going out to Turneffe Atoll to see the work being done on sustainability.  We learnt all about the monitoring they are doing on illegal fishing, how they protect the reefs and the marine ecology, as well as they they raise funds.  In addition, we got some excellent snorkelling in.

We do quite a bit of work in marine ecology so it’s good to learn how we can engage more with some of these organisations.   

This is a fishing station, complete with empty conch shells.
