All set for our first guests
This afternoon we were delighted to welcome the first guests to our newly refurbished guest suite at the back of our flat. Although we still need a few items to finish the bedroom completely - such as bedside lamps, a freestanding towel rack, a wall mirror, and a linen basket - it is already a very comfortable space for visitors.
Cousin Euan and his girlfriend Chloë were very pleased when they saw their accommodation for the night. Paddy and Caitlin were also impressed when they came over for a family supper this evening. (Paddy and Euan are second cousins, but until today had never met each other in person before.)
In my blip are the new bed (with the perfect mattress under the bedding), the new luggage rack (to replace the wardrobe - still available if anyone would like it), the corner cupboard that Mr hazelh gave to me ca 1987, and the rocking chair that Arclight kindly donated to our flat a few months ago.
Over the course of the day I finished editing Rachel's draft conference submission, ran 10k, helped Mr hazelh secure the luggage rack and corner cupboard to the bedroom walls, made a sticky toffee pudding for supper (while Mr hazelh made a fish pie), and tidied up the yarden. My triumph of the day was a quiet, sneaky post-dinner win at Catan.
Exercise today: 10k run.
