Leith mini-break in the rain
This afternoon we checked into the Ocean Mist for the Leith mini-break that we won as a raffle prize in a charity draw just before Christmas last year. Even though we were well wrapped up in waterproofs and carried umbrellas, we suffered a complete soaking on our walk there. Poor Mr hazelh had to dry his trousers with the hairdryer in our (luxurious) cabin. My blip shows our accommodation for the night under the downpour.
Following a game of Scrabble in the boat's Castle View* bar (a win for me!), we popped over the road to The Shore for supper. Unfortunately, just before our arrival, the main restaurant oven lost power. This calamity rendered unavailable most of the dishes offered on the menu. We didn't mind really, and were very happy with fish and chips and a bottle of fizz served to us by the stressed-out waiting staff.
Back at the boat again Mr hazelh had a whisky in the bar and we chatted to a couple from Cornwall until we turned in for the night.
