Inspired by a row of almshouses.
Goodlydale cottages will be familiar to observant tourists on their way from Windermere to Bowness. They were built in 1930 by the notorious Pattenson building firm in memory of family members, Thomas and June.
The cottages stand alongside the approach to the popular ‘Sheriff’s Walk’, gifted by George Pattenson when he was High Sheriff in 1921 to 1922. The family have left their mark on Kendal in so many ways.
