The Manstone

We've had an absolutely superb day's walking, mostly up and along the spectacular Stiperstones quartzite ridge in the Shropshire Hills. It was difficult to settle on one image for the day but I've gone for the Manstone which is probably the most recognizable of the rocky outcrops as it appears on the front of the OS Explorer sheet 216. Definitely a place to return to at dawn or sunset sometime in the future. Hopefully you can make out the man sat on the top facing away from you (I can also see a lion's head but that's my problem).

Update on the house hunting: there was quite a bit of haggling over the course of the day and we've ended up paying a bit more than we had hoped but, if all goes well this time, we will eventually own a lovely house set in some 15 acres of the most beautiful pasture, wildflower meadow and woodland.
