One of my ancestors?

Today I went to visit my friend in hospital again, in Dorchester. I did some shopping for her there and had a bit of a wander around. Next time I plan to visit the Museum. Dorchester has lots of Thomas Hardy connections. Also William Barnes , the poet, who lived there …this is his statue. Barnes is a common Dorset name as per my mothers family. I have yet to trace exactly how this William Barnes is related to her but she said he was! 

It was market day in the town with many stalls in what used to be the cattle market area. The town was very busy too and interestingly there are very few empty shops compared to Kingston near me. There is also still an old fashioned department store and there is another owned by the same people in Sidmouth. 

After my hospital visit I made a quick trip to see the sea at Weymouth as it was such a nice warm sunny day. Lots of people on the beach sunbathing,
