I hated school

I was the type loved by teachers and bullied by classmates.
By the time I was 13 I'd met another 3 girls in similar boats and we became a little gang of 4
In a school with 2,228 pupils (Guinness Book of World Records)
For my sixteenth birthday one member of my tiny group of friends succeeded in persuading the other two to chip in to buy me a real wool sweater. It was rust-coloured, had a boat-neck and ¾ length sleeves. On the front was loosely embroidered lettering with different colours for each word. It read “BUY EARLY WHILE YOU CAN STILL AFFORD A REAL WOOL SWEATER” and there was a white woolly sheep applied to the surface in among the text. I loved that sweater to bits!
Last weekend in Canterbury I was visiting that same schoolfriend and she gifted me this.
The closest match she could find.
I am, and have been, truly blessed by my friends
