We are now in Haugesund - again a very different place. We are out of the fjords unfortunately but still plenty to see. Had a wander around the town this morning which was a bit nothingy really. We then booked on a coach trip exploring the next island of Karmoy. This was excellent. The sculpture of the Statue of Liberty was there because the copper that it’s made from came from this island and was transported from Visnes. Then on to a stunning little beach - they claim it’s in the top 10 beautiful beaches in Europe but I question that! Next stop was a beautiful old town, comprising of wooden houses - a place called Skudeneshavn. All the houses are in conservation area so are totally unspoiled. Our last stop was at a lovely church - St Olaf’s church - which was built in the centre of the old Viking capitol of Norway. We were so pleased to have been on this trip as it gave such an insight into life in Norway. The guide was excellent.
