Yesterday’s flower taken today

I will post yesterday's open bloom in extra, plus a few roses taken this evening. They are looking beautiful, the owner has a very pretty garden here. And did I mention a visit from a snake? That was yesterday when I nearly stepped on it, a strange feeling afterwards. Anyway. it had disappeared when returning with John. It was bathing full length, estimated about half a metre long and spotted in a rough area of the garden looking like a shiny stick, (grass snakes can be quite long here apparently, about two metres). There are no sticks in the area therefore definitely not imagined. And sticks don’t have moving heads….. and I didn’t think to hang around to check the markings.

Back to normal life: the last extra is a shrub near the house doorway, it is a mass of blooms with a pleasant scent, I keep deadheading in the hope it looks as good when the owner comes home next week. I like roses although know they are not for me to grow. The weather here is perfect for them, we have seen masses everywhere.

John mowed the grass as I watered the plant pots, there are some beautiful large plants pots here, some trough shaped. The new plants potted on two evenings ago are looking fine. A bit nerve wracking potting on all that money.
