Day 2
Set off from campsite and headed south. It started misty but it cleared into a sunny day. We came to a very hilly zig-zag route. At the foot of this hill we met 2 young men who were doing the Lands End to John o' Groats cycle. They said yesterday and today were the best 2 days they had weather wise. They had had rain, wind, snow and hail.
We set off and I had to walk some parts of the hill. It was a relief to get to the top. From there it was a lovely gradual downhill which went all the way to Kilmartin. We stopped short of Kilmartin and turned off for Ford. We stopped where some people were watching with binoculars and joined them to watch an osprey circling over the woods. Took this shot around here. After Ford we went up the east side of Loch Awe. We knew that the forecast for Monday was heavy rain so as it was still fine we cycled on as much as we could. Saturday we did 62 km and today we stopped after 77 km to camp at the side of Loch Awe.
Overnight it rained and it continued into Monday when we cycled back to Tyndrum with even worse drivers on the road. Total 178 km.
