Buttercup Season
It’s buttercup season and how glorious they are, filling the field with a spread of bright shining yellow. Merlin and I enjoyed our morning walk amongst them, along with the many other dog walkers beginning their bank holiday weekend. Then it was off to the bakery to get bread.
I spent early afternoon at my new allotment plot - strimming the very long grass and making a start at clearing the rear end of the plot. No exciting discoveries- just a lot of old plant pots and various other gardening artefacts. All good fun and even time for a leisurely cup of tea to rest my hot feet and enjoy the blue sky, hawthorn blossom and the bees collecting nectar from the raspberry flowers. Then home to rest and refuel before Merlin’s second walk of the day.
This evening we’ve enjoyed chilli con carne with a mint and yoghurt dip, Andy’s watched the football playoff between Luton and Coventry and we’ve caught up with a few of the sailing channels we follow on YouTube. Now it’s time for bed!
Hope your day has been a good one.
