Dressed Up

Andy’s knee felt up to a gentle stroll today, as did the rest of his body which has been couped up inside. So we headed off to Emsworth for a wander, early enough to arrive whilst it was peaceful.

The sea was out and we walked quietly along the shore enjoying the sunshine, and this vintage camper van all dressed up for the holiday weekend.

As is customary we stopped at the bakery so Andy and Merlin could enjoy a sausage roll, then watched the miniature boats racing on the mill pond. Merlin sat quietly enjoying the chilled out vibes, and the occasional fuss from passers by.

This afternoon I spent a couple of hours on the new allotment plot, doing another round of strimming, some weeding in the asparagus bed and tidying up. I discovered two blueberry bushes and a strawberry plant amidst the undergrowth - a lovely surprise.

I’m starting to gather some ideas of how I want to lay the new plot out and what I want to put in it. But I’ll not make any final decision on the layout until I’ve got to know the plot a bit better.

It felt good to get home for a cuppa and a rest in the cool before walking Merlin.
