In the Year of Schubert’s Birth

…this building was erected by the cooper Tobias Diefenbach, at Eberstadt, now city of Darmstadt, south Hesse, Germany. The capstone shows his emblem. The extra shows more of the building’s street front. (Imagine, Franz Schubert had lived as long as Emperor Wilhelm I., who was born the same year, and died in 1888. How many more of his significant works of music would we know?)
