Celebrating the Redheads!

My husband puts out a 7 p.m. and an 8 p.m. feeding for our birds in the evenings. It was nice out, and so we sat on the porch and watched the birds after he put the chopped peanuts out for them. I had the camera at the ready.

Here are two photos of some of our fancier birds. The one above - who looks like he is dancing at the disco - is a red-bellied woodpecker, and a male (since he has a red nape AND a red crown). The bird in the extras is a male house finch. So today we are celebrating our redheads!
