Camassia

Today's the day …………………………. to copy

Back in autumn of 2019, I was watching an episode of Gardeners World on the television.  Monty was planting some Camassia bulbs in amongst the wildflower meadow in his orchard.  He showed what they would look like, because there were some there already - and they looked wonderful - statuesque spires of blue or creamy-white flowers. I could do that, I thought.

So I set about ordering some, which duly arrived.  With a bit of help from Will, we planted them in a suitable bit of the garden - and then really forgot all about them.  They did manage to survive that winter - and late the following spring they started to burst into glorious flower.

And so here we are, three years on and they're in flower again.  There are more flower stalks than ever before and they seem to like where they are.  The variety of wild flowers alongside them in the meadow is also increasing year on year.  In fact, it's not that far off looking like Monty's original orchard meadow.

It's so nice when a plan comes together …………………..!
