Stop the Sewage

Bowness on Windermere was heaving with people this afternoon.   We'd all come to listen to a variety of celebrities; Paul Whitehouse , Steve Coogan and Lee Mack as well as our local Stop The Sewage activist, lambast United Utilities for having inadequate sewage facilities to cope with the effluent from tourists and residents around the lake.  I would add that the sewage plant is at  Ambleside in the north of the lake.  We've stopped swimming up there.  I swim in the south of the lake , 12 miles away from the sewage plant.  The water is tested there and is safe to swim in. The sewage must be sitting on the bottom in Ambleside.  Don't swim there.
