PECAN NUT TREE IN GOLDEN GLORY

The branches of this huge tree sweep down to the ground making a leafy cave where the children love to play. The green husks are cracking open now and when they dry to a brown leathery state, the nuts will be ready to harvest.
We put down black plastic netting to catch the nuts as they fall. Patience is required when collecting them as they fall over a period of a few months with the help of the wind.
