Afternoon drinks
..... in the gardens of the rather smart Grays Court Hotel in the walled city of York. It looked rather tempting, but we had just visited a rather nice little pub for refreshments.
We had taken the train to York to meet up with friends and did the tourist thing and walked around the walls in perfect sunshine. This is a view from the walls towards the minster, with the Grays Court Hotel gardens in the foreground. I thought York might have been crowded on a bank holiday, but it didn't feel like it at all.
Afterwards we visited the 'Star Inn the City' restaurant by the river.
The extra photo is a shot from further along the walls of the mighty Minster towering above its surroundings.
