Something Different
Yellow poppies taken when out delivering meals ... shot in infrared and altered in Photoshop.
We had a lateish lunch after the meal deliveries and Bags come and picked us up mid afternoon and took us to the tram station at Ingliston.
It was too early to go to the stadium (to see Bruce Springsteen in case you didn't know), so we stayed on the tram and went into the centre of town and had a slow wander along Princess Street (what an absolute dump that has become) to the West End where we came across Oor Wullie looking like a character from Dia de los Muertos and a a cow dressed is Doddy Weir's trousers.
We joined the throng at the tram stop and failed to get on due to the numbers already on it, but were told there was an empty tram being brough along. It duly arrived and we were ushered on along with everyone else.... then after a short time were told that the tram was now out of service!!!! just in time to miss the next scheduled tram. There were a lot of disgruntled people I can tell you.
However, we managed to get on the next one.
We seemed to time things just right and got in without having any real queuing - it was even straight to the bar without waiting..
We got to our seats and sat and had a chat to a couple of Americans who were on holiday and heading back home is a couple of days for about an hour ... until they found out they were sitting in the wrong section. Just after they left we were joined by the other 4 from out group.
It was a good show - but the sound system didn't do justice and was not nearly as goo as when we saw him at Hampden a few years ago (we also thought the Eagles were let down in the same way when we saw them).
I felt really sorrow for the people nearing the edge of the seating as they would not be able to see the band - or the screens........... See what I mean?.
SWMBO was getting a problem with a chill on her kidneys and knowing what It would be like trying to get out and on a tram at the end, we decided to leave a bit early (maybe half way through the encore).
We had no problems with any queues and there was a woman at the tram stop managed to get the entire place to join in when Born To Run started. It was great.
We got back to the park and ride where our lift was waiting for us. He had managed to find a legitimate parking spot ..... unlike this guy who decided to prove that he had 4 wheel drive and didn't need to use the car park.
