Gone Wild
The clump of chives in the veggie garden is huge! It’s green, healthy and loaded with buds. I need to remove a few to use in salads over the next few days • Speaking of veggies, MrsP and I have put in a full day in the garden. 10 bags of potatoes are now planted: Kennebecs, Fingerlings, Evas and last but not least, Polly’s Potatoes :) That last one is MrsP’s experiment. She saved some of our potatoes from last year to see if they would produce more • We decided not to grow chard or radishes in the planter box this summer. Instead we’ve created a “Cat Bed” specifically to attract butterflies, giving them a “safe” spot to deposit eggs. Our ultimate goal is to raise Cats, short for caterpillars! We’ve planted a mix of both seedlings and seeds. Keep your fingers crossed it works :) • All that’s left to do are flowers, both perennial and annual • Tomorrow is another scorcher with thunderstorms predicted for the afternoon. We’re hoping to get a new purple clematis in the ground before it rains • I’m feeling so much joy about that Cat Bed :))
