Mapping
Today was spent evaluating the performance of a project that we may describe as complex if we were being generous, and a shitshow if we were being accurate.
This was the mapping phase during which we plotted activities and locations on a rough outline of Tanzania. The idea was to compare the original project design with the actual outputs. There was not a great alignment between them, a finding which precipitated the next phase of re-designing and re-planning to get back on track. Sticking coloured post-it notes on Tanzania was more fun than the rest of it, but the discussions were useful and necessary.
Coincidentally I had also dreamt about one of those old brown coffee-stained maps from the age of exploration, wanting to purchase one like an auld cliché.
