Beacon Fell and Bowland Forest.

Went out walking with a friend today. Whilst the rain managed to hold off, and it was fairly warm, the sun never got out.

This is Trish after taking a photograph of a sign on one of the posts. It says 'Please shut the gate behind you'. :-)

I had printed a walk off the Internet but it was a bit of a disaster. A supposedly 5 mile walk turned into 10+ miles and we didn't have time to take photographs of the wildlife. If instructions say Bowland Lane when the writer really means Bowland Road, and both exist, it can cause a bit of confusion. Also, the writer should understand that kilometres and miles are not the same. I really should have known better and taken a Ordnance Survey map with me.

It didn't help that I refused to walk through fields of cows and that we had to add extra mileage for the detours. Also the extra miles consisted of very wet, boggy ground.

Despite the problems we both enjoyed the day.
