Duck Family Outing

Walking along on our way home this morning we passed a duck family "outing".

The Drake and Hen were snoozing on shore, the Duckling paddling in the small pond quite nearby.

As we approached them, the Drake lifted his head and the Duckling climbed back onto the shore alongside the Drake.

Kathy stopped and I circled around for a photo and better light, both of us maintaining our distance.

The Duckling approached the Drake who quietly quacked a message.

The Duckling continued on to the snoozing Hen and nuzzled her a bit.

She too quietly quacked a message to the Duckling.

The Drake immediately arose waddled over to the Duckling and Hen, and then he slipped back into the water with the Duckling following close behind.

The Hen settled down to snooze again.

The Drake is a good dad for sure.
