Beachy Head

Absolutely vertical chalk cliffs over looking the existing lighthouse. Erosion averages about a foot and a half each year, but this obscures the extremes. Recently 19 feet went. The original lighthouse was on top of the cliffs just to the west. It became unused with the building of the one shown and was converted into a private home. When threatened with erosion the whole thing was moved inland!
