Mount Victoria Park

Mount Victoria is a small town in the Blue Mountains.
It is the most westerly town and has seen better days.
Early last century it was used as a 'hill station' by wealthy Sydneysiders.

The once grand Imperial Hotel (purportedly the first tourist hotel in Australia) changed hands five years ago, and is now sitting empty, apart from squatters, and continuing to deteriorate.

The fox was painted on the wall of an enclosure which previously housed a fox. You can see the structure in extras.
There were several of these cement rendered steel and wire grottos, built in the 1930s, and they formed part of a zoo which was owned by the  hotel and for the entertainment of their guests.

These structures were designed by Tony Adams, who designed similar structures at Taronga Zoo and other places, including Leura.
I remember I included a photo of Gitama, Isbi and Walking Wombat peering though one of these caves in a blipmeet a few years back.

The grottos in Mount Victoria housed a tame eagle, two kangaroos, a fox, snakes and lizards and beautiful birds.
I have added another extra to put the scene in context.
