Rehearsing for a Beating Retreat .. link has lots more pictures of the main event. Stirring music, made me want to dance. 

A fine sunny day with a cool NE wind.  We walked down to Newhaven then around Western Harbour; lots of starlings on the shore but not much other bird life. Back by the no 11 bus, which has a terminus there. Coming through Queen St gardens we heard a band playing; woodwinds, brass, drums and bagpipes .. tracked it to the street in front of the Royal Scots Club. Took a quick picture. Went out later to listen to the performance.
