Chaos on the beach

Louisa had the brilliant idea yesterday to make the most of the nice weather forecast and have a day at the beach. So, an earlyish start -with McDonald's breakfast of course- for a drive over to Barmouth and a lovely day relaxing on the beach, paddling in the sea, building a sandcastle (just at the bottom of the picture), playing games, and enjoying ice cream* even if the boys weren't interested in a family selfie photo*.

Owen was particularly interested in the mallet though, waving it around, pretending to be Thor, and burying it so he could find 'treasure'. We even bumped into Ann & Patrick before we left.
Then it was our traditional fish & chips in the garden when we got home. These are the days to remember.
