Nice view!
This is a back blip.
Today was rather surreal. Started with a 7am check in at Gatwick and ended in a seaview room in Nice on the Cote d'Azur.
My good Twitter and Blip friend ValleyAllBlack has recently celebrated a big birthday and decided to spread the joy across the year. I'm the lucky one who got picked to share a trip to the Monaco Grand Prix. It's my first live GP and if you're going to do one, Monaco is pretty special.
ValleyAllBlack had very kindly collected me from home the evening before to drive down to Gatwick (not the most direct route from South Wales!) It was a very long day and an early start. The flight was pretty uneventful and, after a coach transfer from Nice airport, we arrived at The Meridien hotel.
This was the view from the roof terrace of Cap Ferrat but it's almost identical to the one from my room. And yes, the sea really IS that colour. After a welcome snooze and adjustment to new time we had a light meal on the roof terrace before heading off to a neighbouring hotel for a drinks reception hosted by the travel company.
Very boringly we retired as soon as we got back as the coach transfer to Monaco left at 8am the following morning (7am UK time)
