2023 Saturday — Backyard Moments

This morning I had walked to the top patio with the pups when they noticed Mr. Fun headed our way, so they were very focused on him.

Our terraced backyard is finally looking like there is more than dirt in the garden. We’re having fun watching the “hanging” Rosemary and the pretty green Yarrow grow. Both are ground cover. They are both drought tolerant so once they are well established they will require very little water or attention.

The poppies were not planted to be ground cover, but they sure are covering the ground and adding beautifully to the backyard. They are the California State flower and the big boulders in our retaining wall are the California State rock which is serpentine.

Later in the day we drove to Morro Bay to do a couple errands, but overall this has been a relaxing leisure Saturday; very enjoyable.
