2022 Friday — Weather
The weather was consistently inconsistent all throughout this day and that was very interesting. We enjoyed lots of moments with bright sun light and distinct shadows, but then in a nanosecond a cloud would drift over blocking the light and the warmth. We’ve learned to always have a hooded sweatshirt with us when here on California’s Central Coast.
Today we got to retrieve two of my flannel shirts from the dry cleaners. Cleaning wasn’t the objective, pressing was. They are both beautiful shirts, pre-owned (the thrift stores here have lots of items that appear to have never been used; I think lots of retired people declutter, down size, and/or move on to eternity; therefore I find the thrift stores here to be treasure chests of wonderful items). I do not have an iron or an ironing board here at our little coast house, so I let the dry cleaner work his magic on the wrinkles. When I was younger I spent hours and hours using an iron and an ironing board (that is a story for another day). If I never have to use another iron and ironing board it will be too soon.
After walking the pups at Tideland Park, I also walked the Embarcadero from Tidelands to Tognazzini’s where Mr. Fun and the pups had driven to meet me. Strolling that stretch of geography provides 20+ minutes of many things to see: people, pups, and plenty of store fronts. Obviously it is an easier walk on weekdays than weekends when many visitors are here.
As we drove the 4 miles north to Cayucos the view was lovely. We’re always interested in the different view from what we see in the south part of this Estero Bay versus the north. The community of Morro Bay is often foggy when Cayucos is not. It reminds us of the much bigger Monterey Bay with sunny Santa Cruz in the north and foggy Monterey in the south. Of course it has lots to do with wind current.
Once we were back to the house, we enjoyed happy hour and then Friday night homemade tacos. After dinner we watched the movie, “The Biggest Little Farm.” It is an actual place in the community of Moorpark (a place that we travel thru every time we drive to or from our Cayucos home to our SoCal home). The movie was very enjoyable and interesting — they have transformed an old dead property into a luscious productive farm of edible produce and animals; they understand the concept of hard work and satisfying accomplishment. We found the film to be encouraging and motivating.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
