Woodland Grayling on Lichen

This is tending towards a mini beast break, but there you go.

After Taking John to the airport for his flight back to Wendy we took his car in to book it for a service, then the day was ours. It's so hot we're not doing very much still, but we took a trip over to Montoleiu, famed for its bookshops, and then home for a canal side wander again before dinner. 

There are so many things flying around - butterflies, bees, bugs and beetles (and dragonflies, but they don't start with B) - but these woodland graylings are fun. In your face the one minute and almost entirely hidden once they land in the trees. You'd never notice it unless you saw it land.

Go large, because the white lichen is delightful too.
