Cold and sleepy

I wore and neck warmer and fingerless mittens on my walk this morning.  We still have a biting wind and no sun.  

I saw one moth, two flies, three bees and that's about it.

As I walked around the back of the pond I saw the parish's general maintenance guy digging a hole for the post which will hold a life belt.  I may take bets on how long it will stay there.  Apparently youths have completely wrecked all three hides at the nature reserve and been seen on a bridge, throwing eggs at cars driving along the bypass.

This little bee was on the footpath around the back of the first playing field and I could easily have trodden on it.  It obviously hadn't warmed up enough to get going.
