Surbiton Tennis Tournament

Today I went to the lawn tennis tournament at Surbiton. I have never been before so was curious to see the set up as many good players use it as a warm up for Wimbledon, and I can get there with one bus ride so no hassle with parking.

I went with a friend who also had not been before and we were very agreeably surprised at the experience. Very few people so we could get a good view of the matches and even a seat for Centre Court. From tomorrow you have to have a proper named seat ticket for Centre a court but not for the first two days.

The blip is the British player Dan Evans who won his match reasonably easily and who is the No 1 seed at this tournament.

We also saw Andy Murray practising, he won his match yesterday so was not playing today, see extra and also extra of Heather Watson who did not win! We saw two other good GB ladies who both won…..Isabelle Lacy who is only 16 and also Katie Boulter.

The catering was also varied and not too crowded. So overall a good experience and I will probably aim to go again next year.
