Perhaps we tried to fit too much into the day. The plan was to go to the Swiss Vapeur Parc (for miniature train rides) at Le Bouveret in the morning and then have a cruise on the lake. The travel planners later recommended doing them the other way around.

We got trains to Vevey, bought lunch foods in a supermarket then walked to the lake and ate while we waited for the boat. It was a scenic trip around the shore passing Chateau de Chillon.

We enjoyed the train rides but would have liked to spend more time there. There was a steam festival on and enthusiasts brought their own trains and took them around the tracks. Great to see and I’ve added an extra which includes a few.
