Sahte Cennet

This image caught my eye and the irony made me smile.  'Sahte Cennet' means 'Fake Heaven' - it was a beach front bar and night club that closed down during covid I think with no great loss to local residents.

Rufus is exhausted this evening. It was for a him an afternoon of sensory overload.  When Gaby and I took him for a long afternoon walk, it wasn't just his first time going to the beach and paddling in the Aegean - but also, when we got back, Gaby worked on training him to jump in to the car.  Although he is ok once inside, he is scared of getting in - maybe he was abandoned from a car before being taken to the shelter? - and it has been a bit of an issue when trying to take him anywhere. It took no more than ten minutes for Gaby to get him leaping in to the back of the car by himself. She's a miracle worker with woofers.  His adventures still not over, we then gave him a shower, well, all three of us really, using the garden sprinkler on this lovely warm and sunny evening. He didn't particularly enjoy the experience but stood patiently with me while Gaby did the deed. We were all quite clean afterwards.  Then Graham and Kat came down with Esra and the two dogs had a ten minute crazy time chasing each other around the pool and garden which they love to do.  A super hungry Rufus had his dinner in his new crate while Esra went walkies. When Graham and Kat brought her back, Gaby spent a productive 10 -15 minutes training Esra, free spirit that she is, to walk calmly on the lead.

Entertainment for the day quite over, everyone went to their homes where in mine, Rufus was comatose on his bed for the rest of the evening. What a day!
For him, this heaven is very real.
