The historic density of Edinburgh

The thing about Edinburgh is that every vista is full of mixed history.

Bottom right - the Watch House in St Cuthbert's Church Yard built in 1827 to combat graverobbing.

Above that, the Tower of St John the Evangelist - a famous Scottish Episcopal Church built in 1818.

To the left - the House of Fraser, once known as Binns' Corner - where young Edinburgh courting couples would arrange to rendezvous.

And on the left, the Caledonian Hotel, the last remaining part of Princes Street Station - and it was the Railway Hotel for the old Caledoniann Railway. It was built in 1890.
