Poor Mini

A beautiful sunny day and evening, with clouds passing over.  A fair breeze this morning, but calmer again at night.

Up early, and headed out walkies with Sammy after breakfast.  Up to the peat hill to raise more peats.  Nipped out west for a walk in the afternoon, also swung by the garden centre, and then onto Laura's for a cuppa.  Finished off the afternoon in the garden.  Working in the shop this evening, and much quieter than last night.  My boss said last night was the busiest Wednesday since he bought the shop years ago.  Off to bed early, hate it with the sun still shining.  Serious amounts of Orkney flies again today.

A fine walk out west, I did have an aim, to see this old Mini.  A 1987 Rover Mini, limited edition Park Lane model, with an original Shetland number plate, D427 XPS.  Apparently it was the last Mini to be sold from a local garage, MacLeod and McLean in Lerwick.  Very sad to see it in such a terrible state, it really needs saving.  I'd love to take it on, Mini is my favourite car, but sadly I'm not a mechanic in any form.  Maybe need to persuade my dad to help out.  Taken at St Margaret's kirk, Sandness.
