Day 20 - Our Final Cooking Experience in Paris
This morning we met with chef Frederick for a market visit and cooking class. We walked from his apartment to a local market where we first visited all the many stalls to survey what was the best produce available and then, after discussing menu options, we purchased our requirements.
With shopping completed we caught the bus back to Fred's apartment where he has a home style kitchen redesigned for cooking classes. Today we were joined by two sisters from Canada so, along with the guy from the States, we prepared our three course lunch of Beets with Goat's Cheese, Veal with Leeks, Carrots, Mushrooms and Vanilla infused sauce (Veal Blanquette) and, for dessert, Fresh Fruits glaced with Honey and Thyme. The great thing is that we should be able to cook all these dishes when we return home, I hope so!
When we decided to do the cooking experiences we were quite unsure how it would work out but it was far better than we expected.
