Red Campion ( Silene dioica )

Another shot for the 30 days wild series.  Currently, Red Campion seems to be everywhere.  This is good as it is another plant which is very good for insects, particularly pollinators.  We need to remember that over 1/3 of our food relies on pollinators.

Native of Europe it has been introduced to Iceland Argentina USA and Canada.  Unsurprisingly the species has been bred to be a garden flower.
