The Proclaimers

We took the van up to a CL site at Linton near Morebattle (where I went to primary school). Katy and Colin arrived soon after so we had lunch in the sun and heard about their van trip around Fife.

We went in their van to Kelso (where I went to High School) and parked at the niece’s to walk the half hour down to the showground for the concert. I was nervous after all the difficulties with the tickets but they worked and we got in. We sat on our rugs in the sun and people watched. At 5 the support acts started - Hamish Hawk, Admiral Fallow. We queued for ages for food and just as well as later they were enormous - not nearly enough stalls for the amount of people there.

The main event was at 8 and it was so enjoyable. Mr C had cotton wool in his ears and stood outside the tent. We certainly couldn’t hear lyrics of the songs we didn’t know. We last saw them with #1 daughter in the Sage about 18 years ago - better acoustics there!

Brother-law-appeared with the lady as we went out. I was surprised as the band supports Scottish Nationalism and he hates Nicola. I told him he was contributing to her new camper van but it was wasted on him.
